Plain-English terms of sale.
These terms govern orders placed at morningwood.com.au. Nothing here overrides your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
The contract
When you place an order, you're entering a contract with Morning Wood. Your order is accepted when we send the order confirmation email. We may refuse an order at our discretion — if we do, we'll refund any payment in full.
Pricing
All prices on this site are in Australian dollars. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination. We may correct obvious pricing errors before dispatch.
Customisation & mock-ups
For personalised orders, we send a render of the engraving for your approval before any laser touches the board. Once you approve the mock-up, the engraving is final. Please proofread carefully — name spellings, dates, and punctuation are your responsibility.
Production & delivery
Standard turnaround: 10–14 business days from mock-up approval. Rush production ($40 add-on): 5 business days. Shipping is via Sendle (carbon-neutral) for metro and Australia Post Express for regional. Once dispatched, most orders arrive 3–5 business days later.
Your ACL guarantees
Our boards come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. You're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure (defective construction, materially different from description) and compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss. You're also entitled to repair or replacement if the boards fail to be of acceptable quality.
Care & resurfacing
Wooden cutting boards require care. Follow the care guide at /care. We don't cover damage from dishwasher use, prolonged soaking, or direct sunlight. Cracking or warping in the first 12 months under normal use is covered — contact us and we'll repair or replace.
Cancellations & returns
Non-personalised orders: cancel any time before dispatch for a full refund. After dispatch, you have 14 days to return for refund (you cover return postage). Personalised orders: cancel before mock-up approval for a full refund. After mock-up approval, personalised boards cannot be cancelled or returned except in the case of a defect we caused — see /returns.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the board. This doesn't limit your non-excludable rights under the ACL.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. Any disputes will be heard in the courts of Western Australia.
